Darcy’s Cottages are set behind Holtby House, a beautiful Gentleman’s Country Residence in the centre of a pretty village on the edge of York City.
Darcy’s Cottage has one bedroom and a sunny aspect to the courtyard.
Dashwood has two bedrooms and is accessed via an arched wooden gate in the wall of the garden. It looks out over the garden and orchard, where occasionally there are piglets.
Willoughby’s Loft is accessed through a large door in the courtyard. It has the bedroom downstairs and living space upstairs with french doors overlooking the garden and orchard.
Darcy's Cottage, a circa 17th century luxury cottage set in a sunny courtyard. Inside you’ll find a gorgeous bespoke kitchen with granite worktops, stone floors and period range. This leads onto a comfortable sitting room complete with a wood burner, LED TV and comfy leather sofa.
There are all of the creature comforts you would expect including Wi-Fi, LED TV / DVD Player and radio.
The master bedroom is on the first floor up a charming wooden staircase. The star of the show here is the huge antique bed and lovely large window looking out onto the courtyard. The en suite is truly stunning, with a French bateau bath and enormous walk-in shower with rainfall shower head.
To the front of the cottage sits the courtyard which is a real sun trap, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining or a pre-dinner drink in the summer months. There is a BBQ available for your use if required. The grounds of the cottage also include an orchard which is a delight to stroll around at any time of the year. It's one of York’s finest luxury cottages.
Guests will find a welcome basket on arrival and a full log basket and kindling. More logs are available at £5 a basket.
Darcy’s Cottages are set in the village of Holtby, a charming little village just outside York. With the city centre less than 15 minutes away, you have the best of both worlds; the delightful small country village atmosphere of old Yorkshire twinned with the vibrant city of York. The park and ride is only 5 minutes away with regular buses into York. There is also a bus stop at the edge of the village, with buses every 30 minutes during peak times. Taxi’s from the centre of York are in the region of £12.
Darcy's Cottage is in a charming little village in the countryside yet you can be in the centre of York in only ten minutes.
Our local pub serves good food and is less than a mile away. A short drive into York will give you a wealth of choice or a drive into the surrounding countryside gives you a great selection of country inns.

Award-winning farm shops nearby for local produce. Monks Cross with M&S, Sainsbury's and Asda is only a ten minute drive away. Waitrose is 15 minutes. Possibly the best city for shopping in England. Lots of independent shops along with the best high street shops. Designer Outlet at McArthur Glenn is only ten minutes away.
